Colin's #9

Our next artist is a British singer-songwriter and guitarist from LeedsWest Yorkshire. Bailey Rae was named the number-one predicted breakthrough act of 2006 in an annual BBC poll of music critics,Sound of 2006. She released her debut album, in February 2006, and became the fourth female British act in history to have her first album debut at number one. Off of her self titled debut album released in 2007, Colin's number nine song is...

Corinne Bailey Rae ~ Like A Star

"I wonder why it is,
I don't argue like this,
With anyone but you,
I wonder why it is,
I wont let my guard down,
For anyone but you
We do it all the time,
Blowing out my mind,

Just like a star across my sky,
Just like an angel off the page,
You have appeared to my life,
Feel like I'll never be the same,
Just like a song in my heart,
Just like oil on my hands"

Colin's #10

Let get back to what this blog was stated for, here is another top ten song list! This one is my friend Colin!  Let us head to England, where we will find this indie rock band.  A fun fact about the album this song is from
One member wrote the title track the same morning he wrote Blackbird off his solo album Shapes and shadows, and was quoted saying "was quite a productive morning, I wish all hangovers were like that".  Off of their 2006 album How We Operate,
Colin's number ten song is...

Gomez ~ Girlshapedlovedrug

"My feelings for the girl
how could I be with out her?
I would surely still find

The Girlshapedlovedrug
messes with my mind
Don't ask me why,
the Girlshapedlovedrug
messes with my mind
Don't ask me why,
the Girlshapedlovedrug
messes with your mind
Don't ask me why,
the Girlshapedlovedrug
messes with my mind"

According to Wikipedia "The album is influenced by American and Irish roots music, and depicts the band's love-hate relationship with the United States, with socially and politically conscious lyrics embellished with spiritual imagery.  Inspired by American tour experiences, literature, and politics, They chose America as a theme for the record"

My #10 Album

Keeping in the spirit of the Top Ten Music Blog, I think it's time to head in a new direction.  I will still accept top ten song list but I am now accepting top ten album list! So for all 32 of you that have given me a top ten list, here is a new challenge! My criteria for a top ten album is pretty basic, you can sit and listen to the entire album without skipping any songs, the rest is up to you.  Well here we go...
For those of you newer to the blog, or don't know my musical taste that well, I didn't really get into music until I was in high school in the late 90's ~ Early 00's (I graduated in 2002).  That will be greatly reflected in my list...

I'm not normally a punk rock fan but these guys are the exception, they are lyrically punk but on this album sound more alternative rock .  This is their fifth studio album and but far their most successful...

My #10 album is...

Appeal To Reason ~ Rise Against
