Colin's #7

Staying in Europe, let's head to Versailles, France, where we will find this alternative rock band.  The album that this song is from The album name plays off of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, using his first and middle name and replacing his last with the band's name. Thomas Mars says, “The album title is almost like a childish thing, like you’re unleashing a child into the museum and he draws a mustache on the Mona Lisa or something ... It’s kind of bratty, especially with me, my mom is German and Mozart is Austrian and in Germany it’s like messing with the Pope or something.  Off of their 2009 album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, Colin's number seven song is...

Phoenix ~ Rome

"It ain’t easy to ignore
When your shutters are open all the way
When it’s candlelight I see I go insane
Distant silhouette somehow
We shared a cigarette somewhere
Addict till it falls, falls, falls

Rome Rome Rome Rome
Focus looking forward the Colosseum
Oh no! what did I say? what can I say?
Rome Rome many tears have fallen here
I’ll be driving, you look the other way"

Colin's #8

I guess we are staying in England, where we will find this legendary band,  This band is making their Tenth appearance in a top ten! What else can I say about the boys from Liverpool. Off of their 1965 album Rubber Soul... Colin's number eight song is...

The Beatles ~ You Won't See Me

"Though the days are few
They're filled with tears
And since I lost you
It feels like years
Yes, it seems so long
Girl, since you've been gone
And I just can't go on
If you won't see me (You won't see me)
You won't see me (You won't see me)

Time after time
You refuse to even listen
I wouldn't mind
If I knew what I was missing

Though the days are few
They're filled with tears
And since I lost you
It feels like years
Yes, it seems so long
Girl, since you've been gone
And I just can't go on
If you won't see me (You won't see me)
You won't see me (You won't see me)"

Colin's #9

Our next artist is a British singer-songwriter and guitarist from LeedsWest Yorkshire. Bailey Rae was named the number-one predicted breakthrough act of 2006 in an annual BBC poll of music critics,Sound of 2006. She released her debut album, in February 2006, and became the fourth female British act in history to have her first album debut at number one. Off of her self titled debut album released in 2007, Colin's number nine song is...

Corinne Bailey Rae ~ Like A Star

"I wonder why it is,
I don't argue like this,
With anyone but you,
I wonder why it is,
I wont let my guard down,
For anyone but you
We do it all the time,
Blowing out my mind,

Just like a star across my sky,
Just like an angel off the page,
You have appeared to my life,
Feel like I'll never be the same,
Just like a song in my heart,
Just like oil on my hands"

Colin's #10

Let get back to what this blog was stated for, here is another top ten song list! This one is my friend Colin!  Let us head to England, where we will find this indie rock band.  A fun fact about the album this song is from
One member wrote the title track the same morning he wrote Blackbird off his solo album Shapes and shadows, and was quoted saying "was quite a productive morning, I wish all hangovers were like that".  Off of their 2006 album How We Operate,
Colin's number ten song is...

Gomez ~ Girlshapedlovedrug

"My feelings for the girl
how could I be with out her?
I would surely still find

The Girlshapedlovedrug
messes with my mind
Don't ask me why,
the Girlshapedlovedrug
messes with my mind
Don't ask me why,
the Girlshapedlovedrug
messes with your mind
Don't ask me why,
the Girlshapedlovedrug
messes with my mind"
